Install the access panels 162DW, 161DW.
(3)
Install the insulation (9) and (8) around the fill/drain valve 16MA. (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 38-14-46-991-001)
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE INSULATION DOES NOT STOP THE OPERATION

(a) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(b) Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 38-14-46-862-050
B. De-energize the ground service network

A. Removal of the Control Cable 3254MM
(1)
Remove and discard the cotter pin (9).
(2)
Remove the washer (8) and the pin (7).
(3)
Loosen the nut (10) but do not remove it.
(4)
Turn the sliding end (11) clockwise and remove it from the cable (3).
(5)
Loosen the nut (1) at the control handle assembly (12).
(6)
Remove the sealant from around the flange of the control handle (12) with a nonmetallic scraper.
