C. Sanitization of the Potable Water Tank and Distribution System
WARNING : DO NOT GET THE WATER WITH THE DISINFECTANT SOLUTION ON YOUR

PUT ON EYE PROTECTION OR GOGGLES

PUT A GUARD AROUND THE WATER FAUCET OUTLET TO CAUSE SPRAY FROM THE SOLUTION TO FLOW INTO THE WASH BASIN (SPRAY FROM THE SOLUTION MUST NOT GO ON ADJACENT SURFACES).
(1)
Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
(2)
Flush each toilet 5 times.
(3)
Operate the water faucet in the lavatories for three minutes.
(4)
Operate the water faucets in the galleys and at the coffee makers/boilers for three minutes to bleed the system.
(5)
Refill the potable water system until the solution flows from the POTABLE WATER OVERFLOW port (Ref. TASK 12-15-38-613-002).
(6)
Let the disinfectant solution stay in the system for 4 hours.
NOTE : If 100 ppm concentration mixture is used you must let the
____ disinfectant solution stay in the system for 1 hour only.

(1)
Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
(2)
In the Lavatories

PUT A GUARD AROUND THE WATER FAUCET OUTLET TO CAUSE SPRAY FROM THE SOLUTION TO FLOW INTO THE WASH BASIN (SPRAY FROM THE SOLUTION MUST NOT GO ON ADJACENT SURFACES).
(a)
Set the water temperature at the water faucet to COLD. Fill the washbasin with water (approximately 3l (0.79USgal)) until it flows down the overflow vent.
(b)
Empty the washbasin.
(c)
Set the water temperature at the water faucet to HOT. Fill the washbasin with water until it flows down the overflow vent.
(d)
Flush the toilet 15 times
(3)
In the Galleys
(a)
Operate the water faucets in the galleys and at the coffee makers/boilers and let 5l (1.3USgal) of water to flow out of each faucet.
(b)
Shut all the manual shutoff valves in the galleys and lavatories first, then close the fill and drain valves.
(4)
Fill the potable water system again manually with disinfectant
solution until it flows from the POTABLE WATER OVERFLOW port
(Ref. TASK 12-15-38-613-002).
NOTE : This is to make sure that the system is full.

(5) Let the disinfectant solution stay in the system for 1 hour.

(6)
Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
(7)
Flush the Potable Water System
(a)
Open the manual shutoff valves in the galleys and lavatories,
(b)
Flush the potable water system, start at the rear of the cabin and stop at the front.
