6. Component Description
_____________________
A. MDDU Description (Ref. Fig. 005) The front panel contains:
-
a window with a 16-character alphanumeric LCD display
-
a door protecting access to the disk drive (the display is always visible whether the access door is open or closed).
(1)
door closed the MDDU is protected against entry of dust and liquids.
(2)
door open the MDDU is not protected against entry of liquids.
The disk drive is protected against entry of dust by its own internal protection.
The MDDU can work with the door open or closed by the later method is preferable as shown by the KEEP DOOR CLOSED indication on the internal face of the door.
The disk is ejected by means of a disk extraction pushbutton switch located below the disk access slot. This pushbutton switch can only be used when the access door is open.
This switch is surrounded by a fluorescent label (green color).
