(29)
TORQUE the line end fitting (13) to between 1.2 and 1.3 m.daN (106.19 and 115.04 lbf.in).
Subtask 29-14-00-280-052
E. Test of the Air Relief Valve (3005GM), the Reservoir Pressure Check Valve (3388GM) and the Reservoir Pressure Gage (3383GM) of the Yellow Hydraulic Reservoir Pressurizing System
CAUTION : USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN
_______ YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU USE THE SECOND WRENCH, YOU WILL NOT LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(1)
Disconnect the line end fittings (12) and (13) from the fitting (15) of the reservoir (16).
(2)
Install blanking plugs in the open line end fittings (12), (13).
(3)
Install an adapter hose (14) at the fitting (15).
(4)
Install a blanking cap on the open port of the fitting (15).
(5)
Put the open end of the adapter hose (14) in a container.

(6)
Fill the container with water so that end of the adapter hose (14) is under water.
(7)
Install the test manifold (3) to the drain valve (17) of the
reservoir (16).
NOTE : Make sure that the gage (1) of the test manifold (3) is
____
correctly calibrated.
(8) Connect the FILL UNIT - AIR (98D29003501000) (10) to the gas-charging valve (5).
NOTE : If the FILL UNIT - AIR (98D29003501000) is not available, you
____ can use an alternative air supply. The supply must have a pressure of 7.0 bar (101.5263 psi) and it must have a filter. The rating of the filter must be 5 microns or better.
(9) Open the gas-charging valve (5).
(10)
Slowly increase the pressure until you read 4.8 bar (69.6180 psi) on the gage (1).
(11)
Make sure that no air bubbles come out of the adapter hose (14) and the air supply line (20).
(a) If air bubbles come out of the line end of the air supply line
(20) during this test:
-Replace the reservoir pressure check valve (3388GM) (Ref. TASK 29-14-18-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 29-14-18-400-001).
(12)
Slowly increase the pressure until air bubbles come out of the adapter hose (14).
(13)
Monitor and record this pressure value. The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.5 bar (79.7707 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
-Replace the air relief valve (3005GM) (Ref. TASK 29-14-17-000-003) and (Ref. TASK 29-14-17-400-003).
(14)
Compare the pressure value on the gage (1) of the test manifold (3) with the pressure value of the reservoir pressure gage (11).
(a) If the pressure gage of the reservoir shows a different value:
-Replace the reservoir pressure gage (3383GM) (Ref. TASK 29-13-41-000-002) and (Ref. TASK 29-13-41-400-002).
1EFF : ALL 1 29-14-00Page 527 1 1 May 01/05R 1 1 1CES 1
(15)
Close the gas-charging valve (5).
(16)
Monitor and record the pressure value when the air bubbles stop to come out of the line end of the adapter hose (14). The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.3 bar (76.8699 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
-Replace the air relief valve (3005GM) (Ref. TASK 29-14-17-000-003) and (Ref. TASK 29-14-17-400-003).
(17)
Depressurize the FILL UNIT - AIR (98D29003501000) (10) or the alternative air supply.
(18)
Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system. (Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(19)
Do the complete test procedure again two times to make sure that the system operates correct.
(20)
Disconnect the FILL UNIT - AIR (98D29003501000) (10) or the alternative air supply from the gas-charging valve (5).
(21)
Disconnect the test manifold (3) from the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
(22)
Remove the blanking cap from the fitting (15).
(23)
Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(24)
Install the line end fitting (12) on the fitting (15). CAUTION : USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION
_______ WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU USE THE SECOND WRENCH, YOU WILL NOT LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(25)
TORQUE the line end fitting (12) to between 3.9 and 4.3 m.daN (28.76 and 31.71 lbf.ft).
(26)
Remove the adapter hose (14) from the fitting (15).
