_______
R (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
R (2) Put a WARNING NOTICE in position to tell persons not to pressurize
R the Green hydraulic system:
R - In the cockpit on the hydraulic panel 40VU of the overhead panel,
R - On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
R (3) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it
R in the maintenance configuration.
R (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
R (4) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. TASK
R 29-14-00-614-001).
R (5) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position.
R (6) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the filter to collect the
R unwanted hydraulic fluid.
R 4. Procedure_________
R (Ref. Fig. 301/TASK 29-16-11-991-001)
R Subtask 29-16-11-020-051
R A. Removal of the Clogging Indicator
R (1) Loosen and remove the clogging indicator (4) from the filter head
R (1).
R (2) Remove and discard the packings (5) and (6) from the clogging
R indicator (4).
R Subtask 29-16-11-560-051
R B. Preparation for Installation
R (1) Lubricate the new packing (5) and the new packings (6) with the
R HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) and install them on the
R clogging indicator (4).
R (2) Lubricate the threads of the clogging indicator (4) with the
R HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
R Subtask 29-16-11-420-051
R C. Installation of the Clogging Indicator
R (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
R (2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
R (3) Install the clogging indicator (4) in the filter head (1).
R Subtask 29-16-11-790-052
R D. Test of the Filter Assembly
R (1) Remove the warning notice(s).
R (2) Remove the blanking cap from the reservoir fill valve 1698GM.
R (3) Connect the flexible hose 1699GM to the fill valve.
R (4) Put the end of the flexible hose into a container of the HYDRAULIC
R FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
R (5) Make sure that the reservoir filling selector 1134GQ is set to 'N'.
R (6) Operate the hand pump through three or four cycles to pressurize the
R filter.
R NOTE : A Pressure relief valve in the filling selector valve will____
R operate if too much pressure is put into the system. If this
R occurs, a small amount of fluid will go into the reservoir of
R the Yellow system.
R (7) Make sure that no fluid comes out of the filter.
R (8) Make sure that the clogging indicator stays in.
R (9) Momentarily set the reservoir filling selector to one of the
R reservoir positions (G, Y or B) to release the hydraulic pressure.
