(15)
Extend the RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-869-001)
(16)
Connect the inner (RH) door to its operating link (11). Install the bolt (20), the washers (21), (22) and the nut (23).
(17)
Tighten the nut (23) and safety it with the cotter pin (24).
(18)
Cut and remove the lockwire and slacken the two locknuts (12),(10). NOTE : The upper locknut (12) has a left-hand thread.
____
(19)
Turn the blades of the RAT until one blade opposes the inner RH door.
(20)
Turn the barrel of the operating link (11) to change the length of the link to set the gap "E" between RAT blade tip and door tip as required:
-the gap "E" must be 29 mm (1.1417 in.).
NOTE : Make sure that you measure the gap "E" between RAT blade tip
____
and door tip (not door seal).

NOTE : The value of the gap "E" is given for the pre-adjustment of
____ the RAT doors. This value of the gap "E" prevents damage when you retract the RAT the first time. When the rigging procedure of the RAT is completed, the value of the gap "E" becomes smaller. The minimum clearance must be 25 mm (0.9842 in.).
NOTE : The barrel of the operating link is made of two parts which
____ are joined with a swivel link. Thus, if you turn one part of the barrel only the eye-end attached to that part is adjusted.
(21)
Temporarily tighten the two locknuts (12),(10).
(22)
Turn the blades of the RAT until they are in line with the RAT leg. NOTE : If the blades are not exactly aligned, the indexing mechanism
____
will stop the retraction of the RAT.
(23)
Retract the RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-869-002).
(24)
During retraction of the RAT, make sure that there is a clearance between the RAT, the link and the door.
(25)
Install the SAFETY DEVICE - RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-860-001).
(26)
Slacken one of the two locknuts (12),(10) and turn the barrel of the operating link to adjust the inner (RH) door.
NOTE : The inner door is correctly adjusted when it is flush with the
____ outer door (along the longitudinal joint) within a tolerance of 0 +1.5 -1.5 mm (0.0000 +0.0590 -0.0590 in.).
(27)
Temporarily tighten the locknut (12),(10) which you slackened. NOTE : If there is not enough adjustment available (the eye-end goes
____ out of "safety"), slacken the other locknut and adjust that end of the operating link. Tighten the locknut afterwards.
(28)
Remove the SAFETY DEVICE - RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-860-002).
(29)
Extend the RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-869-001).
(30)
Make sure that the two operating links are in safety. NOTE : It must not be possible to insert a 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.) wire
(31)
Tighten the two locknuts on the operating links (11),(8).
____
through the check-holes at the ends of the links.
