A. Visual Inspection of the RAT
(1)
Examine the RAT and its related components for:
-cracks,
-corrosion,
- other types of damage.
(2)
Make sure that the RAT and its related components are correctly attached.
(3)
Turn the turbine blades manually and make sure that they turn freely.
(4)
Examine the RAT blades for damage:
(a)
If you find cracks, replace the RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-51-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 29-22-51-400-001).
(b)
If you find corrosion or other types of damage, do the repair, given in the CMM (Ref. CMM 292128), or replace the RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-51-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 29-22-51-400-001).
(5)
If, after repair or damage removal, the defects are more than the limits given in the subsequent table, you must replace the RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-51-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 29-22-51-400-001).
