5. Operation_________
A. With the Hand Pump
One end of the flexible hose is put into the fluid container and the other end is connected to the fill valve. Under the action of the hand pump, the fluid is drawn through the flexible pipe to the fill valve. The fluid goes through the filter and the check valve of the fill valve and into the hand pump.
It is pumped out of the hand pump through the HP filter to the selector valve. The fluid goes from the selector valve into the supply line of the selected reservoir (the other two reservoirs are isolated). The contents indicator shows how much fluid is in the reservoir and a light indicates which reservoir the selector is set to. The fluid flows through the supply line and the check valve to join the LP circuit of the system which is selected. From there it goes into the reservoir via the main system LP return lines.
B. With a Ground Hydraulic Supply
The supply is connected to the self-sealing coupling and fluid under pressure flows into the filling system. It goes through the restrictor which decreases the pressure of the fluid. The fluid then flows through the HP filter to the selector valve. From there the operation of the system is the same as when the hand pump is used.
