(t)
Safety the lock nut (16) with the lockwire MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).
(u)
TORQUE the nut (15) to between 4.74 and 5.29 m.daN (34.95 and
39.01 lbf.ft).
NOTE : Because of the design, there is a clearance of 0.8 mm
____ (0.0314 in.) between the washers (13), (14) and the leg assembly (11).

C. Adjustment of the RAT Doors
(1)
If the adjustment procedure for the RAT actuator was not necessary, remove the SAFETY DEVICE - RAT (98D29208246001).
(2)
Extend the RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-869-005).
(3)
Put the outer door-operating link (9) into the fork (5).
(4)
Install the bushes (4) and (8) in the fork (5).
(5)
Install the bolt (7), the washers (6) and (3) and the nut (2).
(6)
Safety the nut (2) with a new cotter pin (1).
(7)
Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the locknuts (30) and (32). NOTE : The upper locknut (30) has a left-hand thread.
____
(8)
Turn the turbine blades of the RAT until one blade aligns with the edge of the outer (LH) door.
(9)
Turn the barrel (31) of the door operating link (LH) to adjust the clearance "B" between the tip of the blade and the RAT door edge (not the door seal) as necessary:
-the clearance "B" must be within 40.0 mm (1.5748 in.) and 48.0 mm (1.8897 in.).
NOTE : The barrel of the operating link has two parts which are
____ joined with a swivel link. Thus, if you turn one part of the barrel, only the eye-end related to that part is adjusted.

(10)
Temporarily tighten the locknuts (30) and (32).
(11)
Adjust the blades of the RAT until they align with the index marks of the leg assembly.
NOTE : If the blades do not align, the index mechanism will prevent
____
the retraction of the RAT.
(12)
Retract the RAT slowly (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-869-006).
(13)
Install the SAFETY DEVICE - RAT (98D29208246001) to prevent an accidental extension of the RAT.
(14)
With a GAGE - DEPTH measure the mismatch tolerance of the RAT door. (Ref. Fig. 506/TASK 29-22-00-991-022)
(15)
Measure the mismatch of the RAT door at:
-
the measuring point R which must be between 0.00 mm (0.0000 in.) and 1.50 mm (0.0590 in.)
-
the measuring point T which must be between 0.00 mm (0.0000 in.) and 1.00 mm (0.0393 in.).
-
the measuring point K which must be between 0.20 mm (0.0078 in.) and 1.30 mm (0.0511 in.)
-
the measuring point M which must be between 0.20 mm (0.0078 in.) and 0.80 mm (0.0314 in.).
