 Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).

 On the ECAM control panel on the center pedestal, press the HYD pushbutton switch (P/BSW). Make sure that the HYD page is shown on the ECAM lower DU.

 (3) Make sure that on the HYD page the RAT triangle symbol is displayed in white.

 A. Operational Test
 WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE RAT TRAVEL RANGE IS CLEAR BEFORE YOU

 EXTEND/RETRACT THE RAT.

 NOTE : Make sure that a second person examines the extension of the RAT
____
 before you push the RAT MAN ON pushbutton.

 NOTE : Do not operate the RAT deployment solenoids for more than 60
____ seconds. You can operate them more than once during the test. When the total operation time (solenoid energized) is 60 seconds, you must let the solenoids cool for 30 minutes.
 (1) Do this test
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------ACTION RESULT -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. On the overhead panel 40VU: At the RAT stowage area:
 -lift the guard and push the RAT  - the RAT deploys.
 MAN ON switch.

 On the glareshields:
 -
the MASTER CAUTION lights come on and you can hear a single chime.

 On the HYD page of the lower ECAM DU:

 -
the RAT triangle symbol changes to amber while the RAT deploys.

 At the RAT stowage area:

 -
the RAT is fully deployed,
