 B. Installation of the PTU Manifold CAUTION : USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN
_______ YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU USE THE SECOND WRENCH, YOU WILL NOT LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
 CAUTION : YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS
_______
 LUBRICANT.

 (1)
 Remove the sealant from the mating surface of the manifold (7) and the aircraft structure with a plastic or wooden scraper.

 (2)
 Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 (3)
 Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 (4)
 Examine the structure of the aircraft in the area of the manifold attachment for cracks, corrosion or other damage.

 (5)
 Apply a layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) to the mating surface of the manifold (7).

 (6)
 Put the manifold (7) in position on the aircraft and install the bolts (1) and the washers (2). Do not tighten the bolts (1).

 (7)
 Remove the blanking plugs from the pipe end-fittings and the unions on the manifold (7).

 (8)
 Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.

 (9)
 Apply HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) to the threads of the line end-fittings.


 (10)
 Connect the pipe (11) to the union (13).

 (11)
 TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (12) to between 9.7 and 10.7 m.daN (71.53 and 78.90 lbf.ft).

 (12)
 Connect the pipe (21) to the check valve 3093GM.

 (13)
 TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (22) to between 12.9 and 14.2 m.daN

 (95.13 and 104.71 lbf.ft).

 (14)
 Connect the pipe (48) to the union (50).

 TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (49) to between 1.5 and 1.7 m.daN (11.06


 and 12.53 lbf.ft).

 (16)
 Connect the pipe (3) to the reducer (5).

 (17)
 TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (4) to between 5.4 and 5.9 m.daN (39.82 and 43.51 lbf.ft).

 (18)
 Tighten the bolts (1).

 (19)
 Make sure that the isolation coupling (45) engages correctly in the coupling half (46).

 (20)
 Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.

 (21)
 Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.


 (22) Connect the electrical connector (29) to the PTU solenoid valve. R **ON A/C 001-049, 051-058, 101-101, R Post SB 29-1094 For A/C 001-049,051-058,101-101,

 A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
 (1) Remove the components which are attached to the removed manifold (7) as follows:
 (a)
 Remove the PTU solenoid valve 3012GL (Ref. TASK 29-23-51-000-002).

 (b)
 Remove the priority valve 3064GM (Ref. TASK 29-13-33-000-001).

 (c)
 Remove the bobbins (9),(30) (Ref. TASK 20-23-21-911-001).

 (d)
 Remove and discard the following items from the bobbins:

 -square section seals (10),(31),
 -back-up rings (36), (37), (39), (40) and
 -O-rings (35), (38).

 (e)
 Put the bobbins (9),(30) into plastic bags to keep them clean.

 (f)
 Remove the check valve 3093GM and discard the O-ring (23).

 (g) Remove the check valve 3094GM as follows:

 1_ Cut, remove and discard the lockwire.
 2_ Remove the check valve 3094GM and discard the O-rings
 (15),(16) and the back-up rings (41).

 (h)
 If necessary, remove and discard the lockwire from the coupling half (46) and the manifold (7).

 (i)
 Remove the coupling half (46) and discard the packing (47).

 (j)
 If necessary, remove the reducer (5) and discard the packing (52).

 (k)
 If necessary, remove the union (13) and discard the packing (53).

 (l)
 Install the blanking plugs on the open ports of the manifold (7).

 (m)
 Install the blanking plugs on all of the removed components.


 (2) Install the removed components on the replacement manifold (7) as follows:
 (a)
 Remove the blanking plugs from the manifold (7) and the components.

 (b)
 Lubricate the new O-rings and the threads of the components with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
