(1)
Put a stepladder in position to the related lavatory.
(2)
Remove the ceiling panel 261BC to get access to the lavatory smoke detector (13) (Ref. TASK 25-23-42-000-002).
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Lavatory Smoke Detector
WARNING : DO NOT TRY TO OPEN OR REPAIR THE SMOKE DETECTORS.
_______ THE DETECTOR CONTAINS RADIOACTIVE AMERICIUM 241 OF APPROXIMATELY 0.4 MICROCURIES. ONLY WORKSHOPS AUTHORIZED BY THE MANUFACTURER CAN DO WORK ON THE SMOKE DETECTORS.
(1)
Disconnect the electrical connector 4WQ-A (12) from the smoke detector (13).
(2)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(3)
Loosen the clamp (6) and disconnect the hose (5) from the air extraction hood
(4)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(5)
Carefully pull the air extraction grill (9) from the air extraction hood (8).

Carefully remove the screws (7) and lower the air extraction hood (8) together (8) with the smoke detector (13).
(7)
Remove the screws (1), the washers (2,11), the lanyards (3) and the nuts (10).
(8)
Carefully remove the smoke detector (13) with the packing (4) from the air extraction hood (8).

A. Installation of the Lavatory Smoke Detector CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE AIR EXTRACTION GRILL, THE SMOKE DETECTOR AND
_______ THE AIR EXTRACTION DUCT ARE IN LINE WITH THE EXTRACTOR AIRFLOW. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE MALFUNCTION OF THE SMOKE DETECTOR.
(1)
Carefully install the packing (4) with the smoke detector (13) to the air extraction hood (8).
(2)
Install the screws (1), the washers (2,11), the lanyards (3) and the nuts (10).
