A. Removal of the Lavatory Smoke Detector
WARNING : DO NOT TRY TO OPEN OR REPAIR THE SMOKE DETECTORS.
_______ THE DETECTOR CONTAINS RADIOACTIVE AMERICIUM 241 OF APPROXIMATELY 0.4 MICROCURIES. ONLY WORKSHOPS AUTHORIZED BY THE MANUFACTURER CAN DO WORK ON THE SMOKE DETECTORS.
(1)
Remove the screws (7) and lower the air-extraction hood (8) together with the smoke detector (5).
(2)
Loosen the clamp (14) and disconnect the hose (15) from the air-extraction hood.
(3)
Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the smoke detector.
(4)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(5)
Remove the screws (9), the washers (3), and the nuts (2).
(6)
Carefully remove the smoke detector (5) with the packing (6) from the air-extraction hood (8).

(2)

Remove the screws (9), the washers (3), and the nuts (2).
(6)
Carefully remove the smoke detector (5) with the packing (6) from the air-extraction hood (8).
