R B. Smoke Annunciator Lights 11WH, 12WH
R A FWD SMOKE annunciator light 11WH and an AFT SMOKE annunciator light
R 12WH are installed on the cargo smoke panel 22VU. When any set of smoke
R detectors operate, they transmit a warning signal to the SDCU 10WQ. The
R SDCU through two ARINC 429 buses independently control the warning
R outputs to the Flight Warning Computers (FWC). The related SMOKE
R annunciator light comes on.
R C. Press-to-Test (PTT) pushbutton switch 13WH
R The (PTT) pushbutton switch together with the SDCU, permits a functional
R test of the cargo smoke detection system. The (PTT) pushbutton switch is
R installed between the smoke annunciator lights on the cargo smoke panel
R 22VU.
R D. Smoke Detection Control Unit (SDCU) 10WQ
R The SDCU controls the lavatory and cargo-compartment smoke-detection
R system. The SDCU Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) controls and monitors the
R systems and interfaces with the Centralized Fault Display System (CFDS).
R It records the unsatisfactory components and system malfunctions
R (Ref.26-17-00).

R A. Smoke Detectors 1WH, 2WH, 3WH, 4WH, 5WH and 6WH
R (Ref. Fig. 004A)
R The smoke detector operates on the principle of scattered light. The
R light source, the labyrinth and the photocell are set out in a horizontal
R plane so that the photocell cannot receive light. But when there is
R smoke, the smoke particles reflect and scatter a part of the light beam.
R The photocell receives this light and gives an analog signal and sets off
R the alarm.
R B. Smoke Annunciator Lights 11WH, 12WH
R A FWD SMOKE annunciator light 11WH and an AFT SMOKE annunciator light
R 12WH are installed on the cargo smoke panel 22VU. When smoke is detected
R the smoke detector transmits a signal to the CIDS-SDF via a controller
R area network (CAN) bus. The CIDS-SDF sets the related output and the
R SMOKE annunciator light comes on.
R C. Press-to-Test (PTT) pushbutton switch 13WH
R The (PTT) pushbutton switch together with the CIDS-SDF, permits an
R operational test of the cargo-compartment smoke-detection system. The PTT
R pushbutton switch is installed between the smoke annunciator lights on
R the cargo smoke panel 22VU.

R D. Smoke Detection Function CIDS-SDF 101RH and 102RH
R The CIDS-SDF controls the smoke-detection system. The Built-In Test
R Equipment (BITE) controls and monitors the detectors and interfaces with
R the Centralized Fault Display System (CFDS). It records the
R unsatisfactory components and system malfunctions.
