Procedure

A. Special test of the Lavatory Smoke Detector NOTE : The test procedure is the same for all lavatory smoke detectors.

(1)
Make sure that the outflow valve at the RH AFT lower fuselage is open.
(2)
Make sure that the lavatory/galley extraction fan operates.
(3)
Use an approved smoke generation kit for this test (We recommend ventilation smoke tubes).

1. In the lavatory:
-apply the smoke source adjacent to the lavatory smoke detector.
2. Close the lavatory door.

3. On the FWD Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH:
In the cockpit and in the cabin:
-the lavatory smoke warning must come on in less than 1 min (usual 15 to 40 seconds).
NOTE : If a malfunction occurs refer to
____ para 4.C.
On the glareshield panels 130VU and 131VU:
-the MASTER WARNING lights flash.
-an associated triple chime, repeated every 30 seconds is heard.
On the ECAM upper display unit:
-the message SMOKE LAVATORY SMOKE comes on.
At all attendant stations and from all cabin loudspeakers:
-
an associated triple chime, repeated every 30 seconds is heard.
On the nearest Area Call Panel (ACP):
-
an amber light flashes.
On all Attendant Indication Panels (AIP):
-
the message SMOKE LAV A is shown and a red light comes on.
On the FWD Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH:
-
the red indicator light LAV SMOKE comes on (effect for all lavatories).
In the cabin and on the FWD AttendantPanel (FAP) 120RH:

- push the RESET pushbutton switch. - all cabin warnings are cancelledexcept the red indicator light LAV SMOKE.
R 4. On the ECAM control panel 11VU: - push the EMERGENCY CANCEL pushbutton switch. In the cockpit: - the associated triple chime stops.
On the glareshield panels 130VU and 131VU:
- the MASTER WARNING lights go off.
On the ECAM upper display unit: - the message SMOKE LAVATORY SMOKE goes off.
On the FWD Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH: - the red indicator light LAV SMOKE goes off after some time.

If the lavatory smoke warning does not come on in this time limit, clean the smoke detector ducts (Ref. TASK 26-17-15-100-002).
(6)
Do the test procedure steps A1 to A4 again.
