Remove the latch from the core cowl panel.

Install the latch in the latch fitting.

Attach the latch with the bolt, washer, nut, and cotter pin.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE LATCHES ON THE CORE COWL PANEL ARE ADJUSTED
_______ CORRECTLY. WHEN THE ENGINE IS IN OPERATION, IT MOVES AND BECOMES LARGER. IF THE LATCHES ARE NOT CORRECTLY ADJUSTED, DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE OR THE CORE COWL PANEL CAN OCCUR.

CORE COWL PANEL LATCH - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General
_______
A. This procedure gives the instructions to adjust the latches for the core cowl panel.
B. You must adjust the latches to get the correct aerodynamic smoothness and latch tension.
C. You must adjust the latches and shims when you replace the engine, core cowl panel, thrust reverser or core cowl latch.
D. You must install the thrust reverser with all latches adjusted and closed, before you adjust the latches for the core cowl panels.
