(2)
If the engine is to be preserved for more than 90 days, do the depreservation procedure first. After the depreservation procedure is done, do the preservation procedure again to extend the preservation time.
(3)
The preservation procedure will depend on the length of inactive time and the ambient temperature. When you do not know the length of inactive time, do the next longer preservation procedure so you do not have too many preservation procedures.
C.
Do the task to dry the engine bearing compartment for engines that are ferried and not operated for more than six (6) hours. Do this task on engines which were shutdown during flight where the engine subsequently did not turn freely.

CAUTION: DO NOT SPRAY THE PRESERVATIVE OIL (P03-002) IN THE ENGINE
_______ GASPATH. IF YOU DO THIS, DIRT CAN COLLECT ON THE BLADES AND VANES AND DECREASE THE ENGINE EFFICIENCY.
CAUTION: CLEAN OFF ALL HYDRAULIC FLUID THAT IS ON THE MAIN GEARBOX
_______ HOUSING. HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN SERIOUSLY CORRODE THE MAIN GEARBOX HOUSING DURING EXTENDED TIMES OF INOPERATION. IMMEDIATELY CLEAN OFF ALL HYDRAULIC FLUID ON THE MAIN GEARBOX HOUSING WITH A TRICHLORETHYLENE SOAKED CLOTH.
(1) Method I (8 to 30 days) - You can keep the engines inactive for eight (8) to 30 days if you do the conditions that follow:
(a) The engine is stored in a hanger equipment shed, or similar building, or covered with a tarp or plastic closed on all sides to keep it from exposure to elements.

(b)
The engine was operated in seven days.
(c)
The engine oil system stays full of oil or drained with the Oil System Preservation procedure included in this task.
NOTE: After 30 days of storage, service the oil system and
____ operate the engine with the Periodic Engine Run procedure to purge condensation and distribute oil through the oil system. If the oil was not drained from the engine during storage, do the Engine Oil Analysis Procedure. Repeat Method I for each 30 day interval of the storage period.
(2) Method II (31 to 90 days) - Engines can stay inactive for 31 to 90 days if you do the conditions that follow:
(a)
The engine was operated in less than seven days.
(b)
The engine oil system is drained with the steps in the Oil System Preservation procedure.
(c)
The complete engine, or all engine openings which include the inlet and exhaust, are sealed off , and the engine is installed in a shipping bag or equivalent. If the engine is on-wing, seal all openings, inlet and exhaust included.
NOTE: After 90 days of storage, service the oil system and
____ operate the engine with the Periodic Engine Run procedure, or motor the engine with the steps in the Oil System Preservation procedure, to purge condensation and to distribute oil through the system. Do the preservation procedure again with the applicable method if the engine is to continue in storage.
(3)
Method III (More Than 90 days) - Engines can stay inactive for more than 90 days if the you do the conditions that follow:
(a)
The engine depreservation procedure is done.
(b)
After the engine depreservation procedure is done, do one of the preservation procedures (Method I or Method II) again to keep the engine in storage.
