Slowly and equally lower the aft hoists until the aft shear pins are away from the strut.
(c)
Lower the engine with the hoists, approximately 6 to 8 inches, to obtain clearance between the engine and the strut. 1) Lower the forward and aft ends of the engine at the same
rate.
(d)
Use the lever hoists at the forward end to roll the engine vertical (approximately 7 degrees counterclockwise for engines 1 and 2 and clockwise for engines 3 and 4).
(e)
Lower the engine to the cradle and transportation stand.
(f)
Align the forward and aft adapters (19 and 14, Fig. 409) to the cradle.
(g)
Attach the forward adapters (19) to the cradle with the pins (18).
(h)
Attach the aft adapters (14) to the cradle with the latch (21), washer (22), and nut (23).
(i)
Disconnect the sling support legs (7, 8, Fig. 411B) from the forward and aft handling adapters (19, 14, Fig. 409).
(j)
Remove the protection pads.
(k)
Pull the transportation stand, with the cradle and the engine attached, forward until it is away from the strut.

(7) Remove the propulsion pod overhead sling (Fig. 411B).
(a)
Move the sling away from the engine and airplane and remove the sling from the crane hook.
(b)
Remove the tag lines.
(c)
Remove the dynamometer or load positioner, if installed.
