POWER PLANT - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES (PRESERVATION AND DEPRESERVATION)

 1.  General
_______
 A.  There are three tasks in this procedure. The first task is the preservation procedure. The second task is the depreservation procedure. The third task is to dry the engine bearing compartment.
 B.  There are three different time intervals for the engine preservation: Method I (8 to 30 days), Method II (31 to 90 days), and Method III (More Than 90 days). Engine preservation is not necessary when the engine is not used for seven (7) days or less. You cannot preserve an engine on-wing for more than 90 days without doing the depreservation procedure.
 (1)  
If the engine will not be used for seven (7) days or less, keep covers on the engine. Also, the humidity and temperature must not change too much.
