WARNING: USE CAUTION WHEN YOU INSTALL THE FAN COWL PANELS IN LARGE WINDS
_______ OR IN SUDDEN HIGH WINDS. IF YOU DO NOT USE CAUTION, INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
WARNING: DO NOT HOLD THE FAN COWL PANELS OPEN WITH THE HOLD-OPEN RODS IF
_______ THE WIND VELOCITY IS MORE THAN 60 KNOTS. THE HOLD-OPEN RODS CAN HAVE A FAILURE IN LARGE WINDS WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

FAN COWL PANELS WITHOUT THE QUICK-RELEASE PINS; Apply the grease to the smooth surface of the bolts (4), but do not put the grease on the bolt threads.

FAN COWL PANELS WITH THE QUICK-RELEASE PINS;
Apply the grease to the quick-release pins (7).

WARNING:_______HOLD THE FAN COWL PANELS OPEN WHEN YOU INSTALL THE COWL. EACH FAN COWL PANEL WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 55 POUNDS (25 Kg). IF THE FAN COWL PANEL FALLS, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.

Put the hinges of the fan cowl panel on the roll pins.

Hold the fan cowl panel (2) while you do the steps that follow to install the fan cowl panel:
(a)
Open the fan cowl panel (2) until it is at approximately 55 degrees.
(b)
FAN COWL PANELS WITHOUT THE QUICK-RELEASE PINS; Install the bolts (4), washers (5), and nuts (6) in the hinges on the fan cowl panels (2).

(c) FAN COWL PANELS WITH THE QUICK-RELEASE PINS; Do the steps that follow to install the quick-release pins (7) in the hinges of the fan cowl panel (2): 1) Install the quick-release pins (7) in the hinges of the fan cowl panel. 2) Install the shear pins in the quick-release pins (7).

(5) Connect the hose (1) on the EEC static port.

(6) Close the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-04/201).

(7) Adjust the latches on the fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-05/501).

(8) Adjust the seal on the fan cowl panel. (a) Loosen the screws that hold the seal and retainer (3) to the fan cowl panel (2). (b) Adjust the seal until you get a 10-20% compression of the seal when the fan cowl panel is closed. (c) Tighten the screws that hold the retainer and the seal.
