 (18) Use the control box to slowly and equally lower the forward and aft end of the power plant until the shear pins on the forward and aft engine mounts are away from the strut.

 (19) Carefully lower the power plant 3-4 inches (75-100 mm) with the forward end lower than the aft end.

 (a)  Open the thrust reverser to the maximum actuator extension to apply the load to the actuator (1).
 NOTE: This will remove the load on the actuator lock.

Loosen the knurled-head screw (8) to release the channel clamp (3).

 (c)  
Move the channel clamp (3) off the actuator rod (5).

 (d)  
Remove the actuator lock (2) from the actuator (1).

 NOTE: You must close the cowling if the engine is off the strut

 WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU HOLD THE FAN COWL PANELS BEFORE YOU REMOVE
_______ THE HOLD-OPEN EQUIPMENT. IF THE FAN COWL PANEL IS NOT HELD, IT CAN FALL AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 (a)  
Hold the fan cowl panels.

 (b)  
Loosen the screw clamps (2).

 (c)  
Remove the hold-open equipment (1).
