Hold the gearbox lock with the bolts and washers removed with the starter QAD adapter. The countersunk face must be adjacent to the bolt head. 1) Tighten the bolts to 260-320 pound-inches (29.2-36.2

Install the coverplate on the open end of the start duct.

 (d)  
Hold the coverplate with the V-band clamp removed with the start valve.

(b)  
Put the retaining fixture on the actuator. The holes in the retaining fixture must be aligned with the holes in the actuator.

 (c)  
Hold the retaining fixture to the actuator with the bolts and lockwashers from the retaining fixture.

 (d)  
Tighten the clamp to push against the actuator clevis rod. Continue to tighten the clamp until the 2.5 bleed valve is closed.

 (e)  
Tighten the locknut to lock the clamp.

 (f)  
Tighten the fuel supply and return tubes for the servo valve at the actuator.

 (11) Put the mats in the inlet cowl.

 CAUTION: DO NOT USE A STRAP TO ATTACH THE FAN BLADES TO THE GUIDE VANES

 Remove the 1st-stage (fan) blades (AMM 72-31-02/401).

 Install the blade lock.

 Install the locking closure (Fig. 203).

 (a)  
Remove 12 bolts which hold the fan exit fairing to the fan exit case.

 (b)  
Put the locking closure on the fan rotor hub.

 (c)  
Align the eight lugs at the front of the locking closure with the eight blade slots in the front hub.

 (d)  
Align the bolt holes in the locking closure straps with the bolt holes in the fan exit fairing.

 (e)  
Hold the locking closure straps to the fan exit fairing with the bolts given with the locking closure.
