(4) Make sure the oil temperature indication in the flight compartment is within 5°C of the temperature shown on the thermometer.
(a) If the flight compartment indication is not within 5°C, do a test of the temperature bulb: 1) Disconnect the electrical connector from the temperature
bulb. 2) Connect a 130 ohm resistor to the connector. 3) Make sure the flight compartment indication is 100°C |10°C.
a) If the flight compartment indication is 100°C |10°C, replace the oil temperature bulb.
b) AIRPLANES WITH OIL TEMPERATURE INDICATORS; (AIRPLANES WITHOUT THE ENGINE INSTRUMENT SYSTEM (EIS)); If the flight compartment indication is not 100°C |10°C, replace the oil temperature indicator.
c) AIRPLANES WITH THE ENGINE INSTRUMENT SYSTEM (EIS); If the flight compartment indication is not 100°C |10°C, replace the EIS display unit (AMM 31-42-01/401).
4) Remove the resistor from the electrical connector. 5) Connect the electrical connector to the oil temperature bulb.
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Remove the temperature probe from the "oil-out" tube.

Close the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Remove electrical power, if it is not required (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(a) Set the BAT switch on the Electrical Meters Battery and Galley Power Module (P5-13) to the OFF position and install a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

1. General

A. This procedure has two tasks. The first task is the removal of the oil temperature bulb. The second task is the installation of the bulb.
B. The bulb is installed on the outlet side of the scavenge filter housing.
