(a) Discard the O-ring.

NOTE:____There are two types of filter elements. One is cleanable and the othe is not.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE O-RINGS CORRECTLY DURING THE
_______ INSTALLATION OF THE FILTER ELEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE O-RINGS CORRECTLY, OIL LOSS CAN OCCUR DURING ENGINE OPERATION AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT REUSE A NON CLEANABLE FILTER ELEMENT. THIS TYPE OF FILTER ELEMENT MUST BE DISCARDED. USING A NON CLEANABLE FILTER WILL AFFECT FILTRATION CAPABILITY AND ENGINE OIL SYSTEM INTEGRITY.

Install the two new O-rings, lightly lubricated with engine oil, in the two grooves in the filter element.

Install the filter element in the filter housing.

Make sure the groove in the cover of the filter housing is clean and has no damage.

Install the new O-ring, lightly lubricated with engine oil, in the groove in the cover of the filter housing.

Install cover of the filter housing.
(a) Push the cover into the lubrication unit housing until it
touches the filter housing flange.

Install the bolts (3 locations), lubricated with Molykote G Rapid, in the cover of the filter housing with the nuts and washers.
(a) Tighten the nuts to 42-46 pound-inches
(4.75-5.25 Newton meters).
(8)
Make sure the drain plug and surfaces that touch it are clean.
