ENGINE OIL TANK - CLEANING

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains one task, the cleaning of the screen on the
suction tube of the oil tank.

WARNING:_______DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN. USE ENGINE OIL IN AREA WITH GOOD VENTILATION. ENGINE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN BE ABSORBED THROUGH YOUR SKIN. ENGINE OIL FUMES CAN IRRITATE YOUR RESPIRATORY TRACT.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET ALKALINE CLEANING FLUID GET INTO THE ENGINE OIL.
_______ VERY SMALL QUANTITIES OF THIS FLUID CAN CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

Obey the above Warning and Caution throughout this procedure.
(2)
Drain the oil tank (AMM 12-13-11/301).

Do these steps to clean the screen on the engine oil tank suction tube:
(a)
Put a clean container below the oil tank drain port.
(b)
Do one of these two steps: 1) Remove the self-sealing drain plug the oil tank (Fig. 701). a) Remove and discard the O-rings from the magnetic plug and the self sealing drain plug.

2) Remove the drain plug from the oil tank (Fig. 702). a) Remove and discard the O-ring from the drain plug.
