Stretch the new O-ring and lubricate it with petrolatum or engine
oil.

Install the O-ring in the filter bowl groove.

1. General

A. This procedure contains three tasks. The first task is to remove the Magnetic Chip Detector (MCD). The second task is to clean the Magnetic Chip Detector (MCD). The third task is to install the Magnetic Chip Detector (MCD).
B. This procedure examines the engine oil for contamination.
C. The magnetic chip detector is found in the lubrication unit.
