 WARNING:_______DO NOT LET THE ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN. IF THE ENGINE OIL STAYS ON YOUR SKIN, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
 BE CAREFUL AROUND THE ENGINE OIL SYSTEM IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENGINE SHUT-DOWN. THE ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE STAYS HIGH FOR SOME TIME AFTER THE ENGINE SHUT-DOWN AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
 CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY CLEAN OFF ALL ENGINE OIL THAT FALLS ON THE PAINTED
_______ SURFACES AND RUBBER PARTS OF THE AIRPLANE. THE SPECIFIED OIL FOR THIS OIL SYSTEM WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PAINTED SURFACES AND SOME TYPES OF RUBBER AND MUST NOT BE PERMITTED TO TOUCH THESE PARTS OF THE ENGINE.
 USE VERY CLEAN CONTAINERS AND EQUIPMENT. OIL CONTAMINATION BY SMALL QUANTITIES OF SOME ALKALINE CLEANERS CAN CAUSE A FAILURE OF THE SYNTHETIC OIL.
 DO NOT PUT THE OIL THAT IS DRAINED FROM THE ENGINE BACK INTO THE ENGINE.

Put a container below the scavenge filter.

Remove the threaded bowl and permit the oil to drain.


 (a) Discard the O-ring.

 (4) Remove the filter element from the valve housing.
 (a) Discard the filter element and O-ring.
 NOTE: When you open the filter element, you will see
____ particles that the filter element has trapped. These particles can indicate early oil wetted distress of the part. If you find a large quantity of particles in the filter, it is recommended to do, if not already done, a check of the magnetic chip detectors to identify the source of the particle contamination. It is recommended also that the particles trapped by the filter be sent to a laboratory for further analysis (refer to NDTM Part 10).

 (1)  Examine the chamfered edge of the filter head assembly for nicks or
 gouges which can cause O-ring damage.

 (a)  Make the edge smooth with grade 200 crocus cloth.

 CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE O-RING. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE
 O-RING, OIL LEAKAGE AND POSSIBLE ENGINE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
