CAUTION: DO NOT USE A SHARP OR METAL OBJECT TO PUSH THE SPRING-LOADED
_______ PIN ON THE SCAVENGE SCREEN. SHARP OR METAL OBJECTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PIN AND CAUSE IT NOT TO ENGAGE.
(1)
Push the spring-loaded pin that attaches the scavenge screen to the magnetic plug and remove the scavenge screen.
(2)
Remove and discard the O-ring from the magnetic plug.

CAUTION:_______ON MCDS WITH A D-SHAPED SEAL, USE THE D-SHAPED SEAL AGAIN. DO NOT REMOVE THE SEAL UNLESS IT IS TORN, CUT, OR DAMAGED. THE SEAL MUST BE DAMAGED TO REMOVE IT AND A FITTING TOOL IS NECESSARY TO INSTALL A NEW SEAL.
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CLEAN THE MCD. IF SOMETHING HITS THE MAGNET, DAMAGE TO THE MCD CAN OCCUR.
THE USE OF A MAGNET TO REMOVE PARTICLES FROM THE MAGNETIC PLUG IS NOT RECOMMENDED. THE USE OF A MAGNET CAN DECREASE THE MAGNETIC PERFORMANCE.
(3) Remove the particles from the magnetic plug with a clean cloth and a fiber pusher.

WARNING: DO NOT GET THE DEGREASING FLUID IN YOUR MOUTH OR EYES, OR ON
_______ YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE DEGREASING FLUID. PUT ON PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU USE THE DEGREASING FLUID. KEEP THE DEGREASING FLUID AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME AND HEAT. MAKE SURE THERE IS A GOOD FLOW OF AIR IN THE AREA WHERE THE DEGREASING FLUID IS USED. DEGREASING FLUID IS A POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE SOLVENT WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE THE DEGREASING FLUID AS SURFACE
_______ PROTECTION WILL BE REMOVED. ALL PROTECTED AREAS WHERE THE DEGREASING FLUID IS USED MUST BE PROTECTED AGAIN (AMM 70-40-01/201).
(4) Clean the scavenge screen with the solvent and flush it with engine oil.

On MCD's with a D-shaped seal, examine the seal for cuts, tears or
other damage.

If there is damage to the D-shaped seal, replace the seal as
follows:
(a)
Break the D-shaped seal and remove it from the groove. 1) Discard the seal.
(b)
Install a new D-shaped seal in the groove nearest the handle of the MCD with the fitting tool.
NOTE:____The D-shaped seal does not replace the O-ring. You must install the D-shaped seal and O-ring for a correct seal of the MCD.
