B.  Adjust Door (Fig. 204)
(1)  
Open carry-all compartment door. Slightly loosen attachment screws (4 each) on door hinge fittings (2 places) (Fig. 202, Section E-E).

(2)  
Close compartment door and adjust door downward until lower edge of door is flush and parallel with lower edge of horizontal trim retainer flange or on doors with pins, until both pins just clear bottom of mating holes in bullnose extrusion, whichever occurs first.

(3)  
Open carry-all compartment door and tighten attachment screws (4 places) at hinge fittings (2 places).


C.  Adjust Strike Plate (Fig. 205)
(1)  
Open carry-all compartment door; remove bullnose cover at bottom of carry-all compartment, if installed (Par. 2.B.) and horizontal trim strip along inboard side of bullnose extrusion.

(2)  
Loosen screws (2 places) attaching strike plate to bullnose extrusion; adjust strike plate upward full distance; and tighten screws.

(3)  
On striker plates without new latch

(a)  
Accomplish latch hook engagement check (Par. 11). Readjust strike plate as necessary to attain 100% latch hook engagement. If 100% latch hook engagement is not attained, accomplish following steps (b) thru (d).

(b)  
Remove and retain strike plate, trim retainer and two attaching screws.

(c)  
Enlarge attachment screw holes in strike plate to 0.279-0.291 inch diameter. Care should be exercised not to damage threads of back mounted nutplates.

(d)  
File dimples on backside of trim retainer to a height of 0.04 士0.01 inch.

 

(4)  
Reinstall strike plate and trim retainer. Adjust strike plate upward full distance and tighten screws.

(5)  
On striker plates without new latch

(a)  
Accomplish latch hook engagement check (Par. 11). Readjust strike plate as necessary to attain 100% latch hook engagement. If 100% latch hook engagement is not attained, accomplish following steps (b) thru (f).

(b)  
Remove and retain strike plate, trim retainer and two attaching screws.

(c)  
Slot strike plate attachment holes in bullnose extrusion 0.10士0.01 inch upward.

(d)  
Trim both ends of trim retainer approximately 0.10 inch to a total length of 5.95 to

5.98 inches.

(e)  
Reinstall strike plate, trim retainer and two attaching screws retained in step (b). Adjust strike plate upward full distance and tighten screws.

(f)  
Accomplish latch hook engagement check (Par. 11). Readjust strike plate as necessary to attain 100% latch hook engagement. Reinstall horizontal trim strip.

13. Check Door Operation (Fig. 206, Section A-A)
A. Unlatch door and check minimum inboard movement.
B. Move door manually to the open position, check that door stays open.
C. If door fails above checks, replace gas pressure cylinder (Fig. 201). CARRY-ALL COMPARTMENT END CLOSURE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
A.  End closures are installed at the forward and aft ends of the rows of Carry-All Compartment overhead stowage units to provide a decorative close out.
B.  The term end closures as used in this procedure includes a filler panel as an integral part of the assembly.
