(2)
Support door and remove four bolts attaching each actuator chassis to stowage bin sidewall.
(3)
Remove door with actuator chassis assemblies.
(4)
Remove pins securing actuators to chassis and hinge quadrant.
(5)
Remove actuator.
B. Install Actuator (Fig. 201)
NOTE: Actuator chassis and hinge quadrants must be removed from door before installing actuators.
(1)
Attach actuators to hinge quadrants and chassis with pins.
(2)
Install actuator chassis assemblies on stowage bin sidewall. Snug tighten bolts.
(3)
Connect door to hinge quadrants with screws. Tighten screws.
(4)
Close door and assure that strikers are centrally aligned with latch covers. Realign door on hinge quadrants if necessary.
(5)
With door closed, push down on center of door to ensure full latch and striker contact.
(6)
Carefully open door and tighten bolts attaching actuator chassis to stowage bin sidewall.
C. Remove Hinge Quadrant (Fig. 201)
(1)
Open overhead bin door.
(2)
Disconnect actuator from hinge quadrant.
(3)
Support door and remove bolt at hinge point.
(4)
Remove screws attaching hinge quadrant to door.
(5)
Remove hinge quadrant.
D. Install Hinge Quadrant
(1)
Install bolt at hinge point and tighten.
(2)
Connect actuator to hinge quadrant.
(3)
Align holes in door with slots in hinge quadrant and install screws.
(4)
Shut door to check proper alignment with latches.
(5)
Open door to check door clearances.
(6)
Tighten screws after proper alignment of door.
2. Door Removal/Installation
A. Remove Door (Fig. 201)
(1) Remove both hinge quadrants per par. 1.C. to remove door.
B. Install Door (Fig. 201)
(1) Install both hinge quadrants per par. 1.D. to install door.

3. Latch Assembly Removal/Installation
A. Remove Latch Assembly (Fig. 201)
(1)
Open overhead bin door.
(2)
Lower PSU underneath overhead bin (Ref 25-23-13).
(3)
Remove bullnose.
(4)
To remove horizontal trim strip, push up and pull bottom out first.
(5)
Remove two screws which mount latch handle.
(6)
Remove cover around each latch point.
(7)
Remove bracket on each end of torque tube.
(8)
Remove latch assembly.
B. Install Latch Assembly (Fig. 201)
(1)
Position latch assembly for installation.
(2)
Install bracket on each end of torque tube.
(3)
Install screws to secure latch handle.
(4)
Install horizontal trim strip.
(5)
Install covers around latch points.
(6)
Install bullnose.
(7)
Raise PSU.
(8)
Check door latches properly.
4. Opening Overhead Stowage Bin Which is Failed Closed (Fig. 201)
A. Insert small diameter rod (less than 0.11 inch) in manual release hole and push to release latch.
B. Replace or adjust latch as necessary.
5. Latch Adjustment
A. Mark lower and side edge of hinges on existing door and remove door from stowage
compartment by removing screws and washers (4 places).
B. Mark upper and side edge of striker plates on removed door and remove and retain striker plate assemblies.
C. Lightly mark hinge and striker plate locations on new door by measuring markings on removed door. Install retained striker plates per alignment marks and with screws (4 places). Do not fully tighten screws.
D. Install new door assembly hinge brackets per alignment marks from step C and with screws and washers (4 places). Do not fully tighten screws.
E. Center door horizontally on stowage compartment, gently rotate door to closed position and adjust strikers on door, if required, to prevent interference with latch pawl covers (see section B-B).
