GALLEYS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
EFFECTIVITY
Airplanes with ATI Interior
1. General
A. The airplanes are equipped with three galleys as shown in Fig. 1, all on the right side of the main cabin.
2. Forward Galleys
A. The forward galleys (units No. 1 and No. 2) are used for the storage of both hot and cold foods, the dispensing of hot beverages, etc., and are provided with electrical power and water connections.
3. Galley No. 4
A. Aft galley (unit No. 4) is equipped similarly to the forward galley in that it can store hot and cold foods, dispense hot beverages, etc., and is provided with electrical power and water connections.
4. Electrical Service
A. Galley power is 115 volts ac with circuit breakers on the P6 circuit breaker panel. Connections for electrical power are on top of the galleys. Galley power application is normally controlled by the GALLEY switch on the pilots' forward overhead panel. Power to the galleys may be automatically interrupted by protective circuits in the electrical power supply system. For further information on galley electrical power supply, refer to Chapter 24, Electrical Power.
5. Water Service
A. Water is supplied to the galleys by the pressurized passenger water system. Connections for the galley water supply are on the top of the galley units. For further information on the galley water supply and drains, refer to Chapter 38, Water and Waste.
6. Floor Covering
A. The galley area floor covering is a vinyl mat.

FORWARD GALLEYS - RFMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. Galleys No. 1 and 2, located adjacent to the forward service door, are designated as forward galleys. The following removal/installation procedures are typical for both forward galleys, with variations noted, and with galley No. 1 decorative panel attached. If it becomes necessary to remove or install galley No. 1 decorative panel independently, because of damage, etc., Ref 25-31-151, Forward Galley Decorative Panels. The decorative face of galley No. 2 is an integral part of the galley.
B. Access to the electrical connectors, ground jumper, tie rod assembly and water connectors above the galleys is provided through the hinged access door or upper galley structure as applicable.
CAUTION: USE CARE TO AVOID DAMAGING PLASTIC LIQUID BARRIER ON GALLEY FLOOR AREA.
2. Equipment and Materials

3. Prepare for Removal
A. Open FORWARD GALLEY circuit breakers on panel P6.
B. Open the following circuit breakers on panel P18 (if applicable):

NO SMOKING
(2)
SEAT BELT
(3)
PASSENGER SIGN CONTROL
C. Depressurize water system, drain water from galley and disconnect water connector above galley (Ref 38-41-0, MP).
D. Remove curtain track and header assembly (Ref 25-31-251).
E. Remove miscellaneous equipment and/or articles stowed in galley.
4. Remove Forward Galley (Fig. 401)
A. Disconnect electrical power connectors above galley. Then disconnect ground jumper wire at top of galley.
B. On galley No. 2, remove bolt, nut and washer, securing tie rod assembly end to fitting on top of galley.
C. On galley No. 1, remove bolt, nut and washer securing tie rod assembly end to overhead structure above galley.
