Spread top of reveal and trim ring enough to pull shade handle from assembly.
(3)
Remove shade through top of assembly.
G. On windows with up-closing shade:
(1)
Pull window assembly up and inboard from window opening.
(2)
Spread bottom of reveal and trim ring sufficiently to clear shade handle.
(3)
Remove shade through bottom of assembly.
2. Install Down-Closing Window Shade (detail B).
A. Spread top of reveal and trim ring enough to clear shade handle.
B. Install shade through top of window assembly.
C. Raise shade partially and insert into sheath.
D. Insert lip behind bracket.
E. Place lower edge of assembly into window opening and center onto beveled edge of window opening.
F. Push lower edge of assembly until latching occurs with audible click.
NOTE: Slight movement to left or right may be needed for latching to occur.
G. Open and close shade and check to ensure that shade slides smoothly. Adjust bracket and/or latch if necessary per par. 4.
3. Install Up-Closing Window Shade (detail D).
A. Spread bottom of reveal and trim ring enough to clear shade handle.
B. Install shade through bottom of window assembly.
C. Open shade partially and insert into sheath.
D. Insert bracket A (attached to window assembly) outboard of bracket B at bottom of window opening.
E. Place top edge of assembly into window opening and center onto beveled edge of window opening.
F. Push top edge of assembly until latching occurs with audible click.
NOTE: Slight movement to left or right may be needed for latching to occur.
G. Open and close shade and check to ensure that shade slides smoothly. Adjust bracket A and/or latch if necessary per par. 4.

4. Window Assembly Adjustment (Fig. 402)
A. Remove window assembly and adjust upper attach angle to initial position.
B. Install window assembly per par. 2 or 3.
C. Inspect installation of window assembly and perform adjustments for the following conditions.
NOTE: Combinations of adjustments to latch and upper attach angle may be required.
(1)
Window assembly difficult to latch (high force required):
(a) Loosen upper attach angle fasteners and position inboard until gap is eliminated.
(2)
Gap around upper portion of trim ring or at upper corners of trim ring:
(a)
Loosen upper attach angle fasteners and position inboard until gap is eliminated.
(b)
If step (a) does not eliminate gap, adjust latch outboard approximately 0.05 inch and repeat step (a).
(3)
Gap around lower portion of trim ring or light force required to latch:
(a) Loosen latch fastener and position latch outboard until gap is eliminated.
(4)
Uneven gap from side to side or excessive latching force required:
(a) Adjust latch and upper attach angle parallel to the window opening.

WINDOW SHADES - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
EFFECTIVITY
Wide-Body Look and Carry-All Compartment Interior
1. Remove Window Shade (Fig. 401)
A. Remove window panel for access to window shade (Ref 25-21-311).
B. Remove window shade handle by pressing in spring studs and sliding to disengage.
C. Remove one screw and loosen the other on bracket which has slotted hole.
D. Disengage shade assembly by sliding stiffener out of track in window trim.
