(2)
For all areas except along seams, remove the CIC with Biogenic SE377C, Aliphatic Naphtha, Citra-Safe, or equivalent.
NOTE: If the CIC cannot be removed, replace the blanket.
(3)
In order to prevent Corrosion-Inhibiting Compounds (CIC) contamination of insulation blankets, perform the following steps prior to blanket installation.
NOTE: Adjust the ventilation times of the following steps upward to achieve satisfactory drying. Drying depends on the temperature, humidity, and quantity of CIC.
(a)
Ventilate areas, after application of CIC such as BMS 3-23, for a minimum of 1 hour.
(b)
Ventilate area treated with CIC such as BMS 3-26 or BMS 3-29 for a minimum of 4 hours.
C. Locate blanket in airplane.
D. Press blanket onto plastic studs if applicable.
CAUTION: CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN NOT TO TEAR COVERS OR MAKE UNNECESSARY HOLES.
E. Engage velcro tape if applicable.
F. Fasten glove fasteners if applicable.
G. Replace screws or bolts to secure tubing or equipment if applicable.
H. Install clips on plastic studs if applicable.
I. Check that openings in intercostals are not covered by blankets.
NOTE: Air must be free to circulate between frames.
J. Install sidewall lining and deck panels, as applicable (Ref Cargo Compartment Sidewall Lining -Removal /Installation).

MAIN CABIN CARGO EQUIPMENT - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
EFFECTIVITY
Passenger/Cargo Convertible Airplanes
1. General
A. The cargo equipment consists of equipment which must be installed before cargo may be loaded and carried in the main cabin.
B. This section describes the cargo carrying system on which cargo is actually moved, cargo barrier net installed across forward end of main cabin, and protective panels installed.
C. The cargo carrying system is a kit of equipment which attaches to cabin floor tracks and supports cargo pallets. It is referred to as a 3G 88 x 108 inch system to indicate that each pallet is individually restrained by a lock designed to withstand a forward acceleration of 3G, and pallets are 88 inches long by 108 inches wide. The complete system accommodates 7 pallets in positions numbered 1 thru 7 from forward to aft. For combined cargo/passenger configurations, the system can be varied to accommodate any number of cargo pallets from 2 thru 6. This is accomplished by terminating its aft end at the appropriate position (Fig. 1).
D. The equipment consists primarily of a series of roller trays, transfer panels or ball mats, and restraints along both sides of the system to prevent pallets from moving laterally and striking cabin sidewalls. Retractable pallet locks are installed between each pallet position, and stops are installed at forward and aft ends of the system. Pallet brakes are installed at two places in the system to retard any pallet moving too fast along the rollers.
E. All equipment is provided with manually operated fasteners which attach it to cabin floor tracks, and no tools are required to install, operate or remove any component. All equipment is clearly marked by part number and corresponding markings are provided on the floor to ensure proper location of each item. Floor tracks are at BL62.5 (left and right), BL45.5 (left and right), BL24.5 (left and right) and at BL0 For convenience these tracks are referred to by numbers 1 thru 7, from left to right across the floor.
