D.  Install adjacent spacer panels.
(1)
If spacer panels do not slide freely when adjusted, pull apart and apply lubricant to interlocking joints.

(2)
When PSU’s are installed for seating with 35 or 36 inch spacing, install spacer panels as follows:

CAUTION:  SPACER PANEL LUG MUST BE LOCATED INSIDE FORK ON BOTTOM OF SUPPORT CLAMP TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO PANEL.
(a)
For 36 inch spacing, install both extender and spring to prevent sagging of panel (View 1).

(b)
For 35 inch spacing, install spring to prevent sagging of panel.

NOTE:  Springs should be hand-shaped to produce acceptable appearance of panels. Springs may be installed as required to improve panel appearance when seat spacing is closer than 35 inches.
(3)
Connect spacer panel and adjacent PSU to outboard end of bridge assembly or outboard support clamp.

(a)
On panels with straight pin type attachment, install attaching pin, washer, and cotter pin to secure panel and PSU to outboard clamp.

(b)
On panels with spring pin type attachment, squeeze open spring portion of pin and insert pin through panel, PSU and outboard clamp.

(4)
Support spacer panel and secure inboard side of panel in closed position.

(a)
On panels supported by bridge assemblies, raise panels and install screw or spring pin to attach each inboard corner of panel to bridge assembly.

(b)
When bridge assemblies are not installed, raise panel and snap panel support springs onto support angle. If installed, check that hinged latches are securely hooked onto support angle.

E.  Support PSU in position and connect PSU and adjacent spacer panels to outboard end of bridge assembly or to outboard support clamp.
(1)
On PSU’s with straight pin type attachment, install attaching pin, washer, and cotter pin.

(2)
On PSU’s with spring pin type attachment, squeeze open spring portion of pin and insert pin through PSU, spacer panel, and outboard clamp.

CAUTION:  SUPPORT PSU WHILE INSTALLING PINS TO AVOID POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO PINS OR PIN SUPPORT.

F.  Hook lanyard around support angle.
G.  Uncap electrical outlet and oxygen fitting in sidewall. Route PSU wire bundle and oxygen line outboard of support structure, wiring, and tubing and make connections.
H.  Attach oxygen line clamp to air conditioning outlet extrusion.
NOTE:  Clamp must be installed so oxygen line is free to move but does not rub air
conditioning outlet extrusion.

I.  Uncap air outlet on sidewall and connect cold air hose.
NOTE: Air hose should be connected to outlet that gives least amount of bending in hose.
J.  Adjust reading lights as necessary (Ref Chapter 33, Passenger Cabin Lighting).
K.  Check low pressure oxygen system for open connections and leakage (Ref Chapter 35, Passenger Oxygen System).
L.  Push PSU up and outboard as required to ensure that outboard edge of unit rests on top of air outlet extrusion flange. Raise PSU to closed position and check that there is no twisting, binding, or kinking in the PSU wire bundle and oxygen line. The cold air hose must not have kinks or excessive bending when PSU is closed.
CAUTION:  OUTBOARD EDGE OF PSU MUST REST ON TOP OF AIR OUTLET EXTRUSION FLANGE WHEN PSU IS RAISED AND CLOSED. CLOSING PSU WITH ITS OUTBOARD EDGE TRAPPED AGAINST OR BELOW AIR OUTLET EXTRUSION FLANGE MAY DAMAGE PSU OR CAUSE INTERFERENCE WITH ADJACENT COMPONENTS.
M.  Secure PSU in closed position.
(1)
On PSU with quarter-turn latches, hold PSU closed and insert small screwdriver into hole near each corner of PSU. Rotate each latch one quarter turn to lock.

NOTE: Exercise care not to scratch surface of PSU around latch access holes.

(2)
On PSU with hinged latches, check that latches are securely hooked onto support angle.
