CONTROL CABIN INSULATION - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Equipment and Materials
A. Adhesive -EC1300L
2. Remove Insulation Blanket (Fig. 401)
A. Remove Control Cabin lining panels (Ref 25-16-11).
B. Remove equipment and equipment support as necessary.
C. Remove wiring and tubing clips.
D. Disconnect and remove wiring or tubing where necessary.
E. Remove blanket fasteners as necessary.
F. Remove blanket partly or completely, as necessary.
G. Examine both sides of blanket for damaged covers.
3. Install Insulation Blanket (Fig. 401)
A. Place blanket in position and cement or velcro tape to structure.
B. In areas where velcro tape is used to secure insulation, align tape surfaces and press together.
C. Lap edges or flaps of insulation blanket over or under adjacent blankets as required.
NOTE: Flaps along edges of insulation blankets must overlap adjacent blankets in a manner which will transfer runoff of condensed moisture to adjacent blanket without trapping moisture or allowing it to leak into cabin area.
D. Stretch blanket between frames and space away from stringers wherever possible.
NOTE: Insulation blanket should clear stringers if possible to allow free drainage of condensed moisture. Blankets should not be wrapped around stringers.
E. Check that insulation blankets fit tightly around any structure or supporting brackets which protrude through inboard surface of insulation. Use single face tape as required to secure and seal insulation blankets tightly around these items.
F. Attach blanket with blanket fasteners when using cap strips.
G. Connect wiring and tubing.
H. Install wiring and tubing clips.
I. Install lining panels (Ref 25-16-11).

CONTROL CABIN INSULATION - APPROVED REPAIRS
1. General A Patch punctured or torn blankets to keep the insulation dry.
B. Replace immediately any damaged blankets which are soaked with oil.
NOTE: If area to be repaired covers 25 percent or more of the blanket area, replace blanket.
2. Equipment and Materials
A. Solvent - General Cleaning of Solvent-Resistant Organic Coatings (Series 82)
(Ref AMM/SOPM 20-30-82)
B. Adhesive - BMS 5-30 (AMM 20-30-11)
C. Insulation covering, self extinguishing - BMS 8-142, type XI, class 00 (AMM 20-30-51)
3. Repair Insulation Blanket
A. Clean affected area with solvent.
NOTE: The cleaned fabric shall dry until the odor of solvent is no longer present.
B. Cut patch of fabric to cover area.
C. Apply generous coat of adhesive to area and patch.
D. When adhesive is tacky, press patch firmly onto the blanket.

CONTROL CABIN DRIP PAN - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Remove Control Cabin Drip Pan (See figure 401.)
A. Remove overhead instrument panels.
B. Remove adjoining lining panels. (Refer to Control Cabin Lining, 25-16-11.)
C. Remove structure which supports panels.
D. Remove wiring supports and clips.
E. Disconnect wiring where necessary.
F. Loosen wire bundles where necessary.
G. Disconnect the drain tubing.
H. Remove remaining fasteners.
I. Remove pan; push wire bundles out of holes.
J. Examine for loose insulation and for damaged insulation pads.
2. Install Control Cabin Drip Pan (See figure 401.)
A. Place pan in position and secure it with bolts.
B. Connect the cooling and drain tubing.
C. Arrange wire bundles in correct position and rebind bundles where necessary.
D. Connect wiring where necessary.
E. Install wiring supports and clips.
F. Install structure supporting panels.
G. Install lining panels. (Refer to Control Cabin Lining, 25-16-11.)
