F.  Install bullnose cover (Section A-A).
(1)
Insert slot near outboard edge of bullnose cover over lower flange of PSU support beam. If bullnose retainer clips are installed squeeze protruding spring loop of retainer and move retainer upward to allow lip of bullnose to move outboard over flange.

(2)
Adjust bullnose to correct fore-and-aft position.

(3)
Install inboard edge of bullnose cover.

(a)  Start at one end by pushing and twisting edge of bullnose over support bulb. Continue similar action along entire length of cover.

11.  Check Door Latch for 100% Latch Hook Engagement
A.  General
(1)
Two methods are provided for checking compartment door latch hook engagement. Method 1 checks engagement by measuring the distance between the latch handle and bin strike roller when the door is closed. Method 2 visually checks the latch hook engagement.

(2)
Method 1 (Fig. 203)

(a)
Open carry-all compartment door and place a 1x3 strip of masking tape on the horizontal trim strip or bullnose extrusion if trim strip and bullnose cover are removed. Center masking tape on extended vertical centerline below latch hook opening and close and latch carry-all compartment door.

(b)
Place a check block (recommend 0.50 x 1.00 x 3.00 inch bar of hard material) over masking tape up lightly against latch handle lower edge.

(c)
Mark masking tape along upper edge of check block on both sides of latch handle.

(d)
Open carry-all compartment door and draw a line between the two marks made in step (c).

(e)
Measure distance from line to top of strike roller. If dimension is less than 0.80 inch, latch hook does not have 100% engagement. If dimension is 0.80 inch or greater, latch hook has 100% engagement. Restore compartment to normal.

(3)
Method 2 (Fig. 203, Detail C)

(a)
Remove bullnose cover, if installed, at bottom of carry-all compartment (Par. 2B).

(b)
Close and latch carry-all compartment door. Visually check engagement of latch hook on strike roller with light and small inspection mirror through bottom access to interior of bullnose extrusion. (Detail C) If light is visible through contact point between lower surface of latch hook and upper surface of strike roller, latch hook does not have 100% engagement. If light is not visible through contact point, latch hook has 100% engagement, install bullnose cover at bottom of carry-all compartment (Par. 10F).

12  Adjust Carry-All Compartment Components to Obtain 100% Latch Hook Engagement
A.  Adjust Latch (Doors with pins in latch lower attach holes) (Fig. 204)
(1)
Open carry-all compartment door. Remove and retain existing latch assembly, upper screws (2 places) and pins (2 places).

(2)
Inspect vinyl edge wrap in vicinity of latch assembly insert holes in door (4 places). Hole in vinyl edge wrap should be larger than diameter of insert and insert floating nut element should be free to move without interference. If not, cut and remove vinyl as required to attain above condition.

(3)
File all casting flash from inside surface of latch hook. Apply alodine or dry lubricant  (Ref. 51-21-41).

(4)
Reinstall latch assembly, flush to lower edge of compartment door while allowing pins to clear mating holes in bullnose extrusion when door is shut and latched; maximum allowable mismatch between lower edge of latch assembly and door is 0.02 inch (lower edge of latch assembly may over hang door lower edge).

NOTE:  The pin mating holes in bullnose extrusion cannot be enlarged during corrective action.
