G. Threshold Assembly
(1)
Main cabin cargo door threshold assembly comprises three sections and is installed along cargo door sill to provide support and aid movement of cargo pallets through door opening, and also to protect door sill from damage by pallets. Threshold sections are installed and remain in place only during loading or unloading. Threshold assemblies must be removed before cargo door is closed. Forward and aft threshold sections are equipped with vertical scuff plates to protect lower section of door opening side structure and to aid guidance of cargo pallets through door opening. Each threshold section is equipped with cylindrical rollers on which pallets are supported. The center threshold section is also equipped with two retractable spring-loaded pallet roll-out stops. These stops are unlatched during pallet loading to prevent a pallet from inadvertently moving back out of the door opening. During pallet or equipment unloading the pallet roll-out stops are manually latched in down position so that pallets may be rolled over them without hindrance.
(2)
Threshold sections are secured by hinged connections to attachment fittings which are attached to floor track No. 1. Manually operated locking handles permit threshold assemblies to be readily detached from their attachment fittings. The attachment fittings may remain installed in floor track when cargo door is closed.
3. Cargo Barrier Net (Fig. 3)
A. The cargo barrier net is an assembly of radial and circumferential straps installed across forward end of main cabin between forward entry door and main cargo door and designed to resist impact of entire cargo load up to a 9G load factor.
B. Cargo barrier net is secured in position by connecting fittings at ends of radial straps, to shackle fittings permanently installed around upper lobe of cabin fuselage structure and in the floor structure.
4. Sidewall Protector Panels (Fig. 4)
A. Sidewall protective panels are installed along both sides of the main cabin in the cargo door area. The panels cover the sidewall window panels and carpet riser panels to prevent damage by cargo. Each panel is attached by fittings which hook over sidewall extrusion and by clips which engage lower edge of window panels.
