B.  Access doors and entry light panels are hinged; other panels are fixed.
2.  Prepare for Removal
CAUTION: EXERCISE CARE TO AVOID SOILING OR MARRING OF DECORATIVE SURFACES.
A.  Remove electrical power (Ref 24-22-0, MP).
B.  Remove any equipment or furnishings which obstruct panel removal.
3.  Remove Ceiling Panels (Fig. 401)
A.  Remove Hinged Panels (Access Doors and Entry Lights)
(1)  
Support panel, and release latches by inserting small Allen wrench or other suitable tool in access holes (Detail B).

(2)  
Lower panel until supported by lanyard anchor (Detail C).

(3)  
Release lanyard anchor and allow panel to swing downward.

(4)  
Support panel and remove fasteners at hinges; remove panel.


B.  Remove Fixed Panels
(1)  
Remove attendant service unit, if required (Ref 25-23-131).

(2)  
Remove exhaust inlet hose, if required (Detail A).

(3)  
If speakers, lights or other devices are attached to panel being removed, disconnect wiring.

(4)  
Support panel and remove fasteners connecting it to support structure, to stowage bin (Section C-C) or to adjacent panels; remove panel.


4.  Install Ceiling Panels (Fig. 401)
A.  Install Fixed Panels
(1)  
Install Curved Ceiling Panels

(a)  
Engage panel with air outlet extrusion (Flagnote 4); align with outboard mounts and install fasteners (Section C-C).

(b)  
Adjust outboard brackets to obtain gap tolerances at adjacent panels (Section A-A); install remaining fasteners.

 

(2)  
Install Lowered Ceiling Panels

(a)  
Align panel and install fasteners which secure it to support structure and adjacent panels.

(b)  
If required, connect wiring, or air inlet hose (Detail A); install attendant service unit (Ref 25-23-131) if applicable.

 


B.  Install Hinged Panels (Access Doors and Entry Lights)
(1)  
Support panel and install fasteners at hinges.

(2)  
Swing panel up to partially-closed position and connect lanyard anchor (Detail C); check to ensure that lanyard is stowed.

(3)  
Raise panel to fully-closed position and check to verify that automatic latches have engaged.


5.  Restore Airplane to Normal
A.  Install any equipment or furnishings removed for access.
B.  Restore electrical power (Ref 24-22-0, MP).
C.  Check for correct operation of lights, speakers or other devices which were disconnected during removal of panels.
D.  Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-0, MP).

1. General
A.  The support structure system consists of upper channel sections joined by joint splice channels which are tied to brackets in the structure by turnbuckles and diagonal braces and struts. The lower portion of the support system consists of cluster of turnbuckles attached to fittings mounted on body frames.
