B.  The passenger seat can be removed and installed with the baggage restraint attached. The baggage restraint is removed from the seat by removing a quick-release pin from one support bracket and sliding the restraint tube out of both support brackets.

PASSENGER SERVICE UNITS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

EFFECTIVITY
Wide-Body Look and Carry-All Compartment Interior
1.  General
A.  Service units are provided in the airplane to supply air, emergency oxygen, and electrical services for passengers' and attendants' use. The units are located beneath the overhead stowage compartment over each seat, in the lavatories, and at the attendants' stations (Fig. 1).
B.  The units offer the following services as necessary: individual air, emergency oxygen, reading lights, call button, and call light.
C.  Oxygen masks are stored in the units and are released automatically by a pressure sensitive latch or manually by the attendant.

2.  Passenger Cabin Service Units (Fig. 3)
A.  The units provide the following services: individual air, emergency oxygen, reading lights, call button, and call light.
B.  Three individual air outlets, oxygen masks and reading lights are supplied per unit. One call button, call light and loudspeaker is supplied in each unit.
C.  The passenger service units are located in the lower surface of the carry-all compartments. Each unit is supported at the forward and aft ends by clamps outboard and latches inboard. The latches attach to a support angle inboard and the clamps fasten to the air outlet extrusion. Outboard clamps are equipped with a plunger which engages holes in the air conditioning outlet extrusion. The holes in the outlet extrusion allow adjustment of the passenger service unit in increments of 1 inch.
D.  Air and oxygen outlets and electrical connectors are provided behind the service units at intervals of 20 inches throughout the length of the airplane. Flexible lines attached to the units permit an adjustment of 10 inches aft and 10 inches forward of nominal location.
E.  Spacer panels are installed to fill the area between the passenger service units. The spacer panels attach by clamps and latches in the same manner as PSU'S.
3.  Lavatory Compartments Service Units
A.  Recessed into the ceiling of each lavatory compartment there is one unit containing two oxygen masks and one loudspeaker.
4.  Attendant’s Service Units
A.  One attendants' service unit is recessed in the ceiling above each cabin attendants’ seat. Each of these units contains two oxygen masks.

SERVICE UNITS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General
A.  Service units are installed for passengers and attendants. Passenger service units (PSU's) are above each row of seats. Attendant service units (ASU's) are at each attendant seat. Lavatory service units (LSU's) are in each lavatory.
B.  A chemical oxygen generator installed in each unit supplies the emergency oxygen.
2.  Passenger Service Units (Fig. 1)
A.  PSU's above the seats have reading lights, gasper air outlets, emergency oxygen equipment, lifevests, no smoking fasten seat belt (NSFSB) signs, and attendant call switches. Alternate units have a speaker.
B.  The PSU's have inboard and outboard support rails connected with tie bars. PSU's are hinged on the outboard side and latch on the inboard side. Small holes in the PSU face panels give access for releasing the latches. A lanyard prevents the panel from swinging completely open.
3.  Attendant Service Units
A.  Attendant service units are in lowered ceilings at entryways. ASU's have emergency oxygen equipment.
4.  Lavatory Service Units
A.  Lavatories have emergency oxygen, passenger advisory lights, and speakers. LSU's contain emergency oxygen only, and are ceiling-mounted; other service devices are located separately.
