_______ RUBS ON THE TUBES. IF THE RING IS NOT DOWN IT CAN RUB ON THE TUBES AND CAUSE DAMAGE.
R CAUTION : MAKE SURE WHILE CLOSING THE REVERSER COWL THAT THE CABLE THAT
_______ R ATTACHES THE QUICK RELEASED PIN (UPPER AND LOWER) OF THE HOLD R OPEN ROD IS NOT TRAPPED BETWEEN V-GROOVE AND J-RING OR DAMAGE R MAY OCCUR TO BOTH PARTS.
(1) Operate the hand pump to pressurize opening actuator and take the load off hold open rod.

(2) Disconnect the quick release pin from the bracket of the forward frame.
(3) Attach the hold-open rod to the upper or lower bracket on the adapter ring assembly with the quick release pin.
R (4) If the half doors were opened to the 45 degree position, put the red R bolt and nut in the upper lug of the hold open rod fitting on the R inner cowl. Torque the nut to between 26 and 43.5 lbf.in (0.29 and R 0.49 m.daN).
R (5) Open the relief valve on the hand pump to let the thrust reverser door close.
R (6) Push the thrust reverser doors together to engage the door latches.
R (7) Make sure that the latch hooks on the right thrust reverser door are correctly engaged in the stirrups (eyebolts) on the left thrust reverser door.
R (8) Push each latch handle closed until it snaps over-center and the handle stays in the thrust reverser door slots.

D. Drain the fluid from the door opening actuator.
NOTE : The fluid should always be drained from the actuator, if not,
____ there will not be enough fluid in the pump to close the other door. If more fluid is added to the pump there will be too much fluid in the pump when the door is closed.
(1) Open the relief valve on the PUMP HAND COWL - ACTUATOR, FAN REVERSER (HIX4001).
(2) Let the fluid in the actuator drain into the hand pump for a minimum of one minute.

E. Disconnect Hand Pump
(1) Disconnect the hose of hand pump the from the quick disconnect on the hydraulic junction box.
(2) Put the cap on the quick disconnect.

(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. TASK 71-13-00-410-040):

(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
