A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

R A. Removal of the Adapter Ring Assembly R
NOTE : At some locations, brackets are installed on the forward face of
____ the flange with the same hardware that attaches the adapter ring to the aft face of the flange. When you remove the adapter ring, reinstall the nuts loosely to hold these brackets in their correct locations until the ring is reinstalled.
(1) Remove the hold-open rods and fittings as follows: (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 78-36-42-991-301, 402/TASK 78-36-42-991-302, 403/TASK 78-36-42-991-303)
(a) Remove the quick release pin from the hold-open rod and the lower bracket.
(b) Remove the nuts, the bolts, and the washers which attach the upper bracket on the outer flange.
(c) Remove the hold-open rod and the upper bracket.
