A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. TASK 71-13-00-010-040):

(2) Put an access platform in position. Subtask 78-36-00-040-050
C. Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. TASK 78-30-00-481-041). NOTE : Do not close the fan cowl doors.

4. Procedure

Subtask 78-36-00-010-051
A. Opening of the Thrust Reverser Doors CAUTION : DO NOT OPEN THE THRUST REVERSER DOORS IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE
_______
THAN 40 KNOTS.
(1) Release each of the four door latches of the thrust reverser as follows:
(a) Push in on the snap to free the latch handle. (Ref. Fig. 201/TASK 78-36-00-991-300)
(b) Pull down on the latch handle to disengage the latch hook from its attachment point.

B. Remove the cap:
(Ref. Fig. 202/TASK 78-36-00-991-301)
CAUTION : DO NOT USE A HYDRAULIC PUMP WITH A FLOW MORE THAN 3.66 IN.3.
_______ (60 CM3) PER EACH HAND PUMP TRAVEL OR DAMAGE OF THE HYDRAULIC JUNCTION BOXES COULD RESULT.
R CAUTION : ONLY USE MIL-L-23699C OIL IN HYDRAULIC HAND PUMP, USE OF ANY
_______ R OTHER COULD DAMAGE HYDRAULIC THRUST REVERSER COWL OPENING ACTUATOR.
