(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.

(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(3) Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to pressurize the applicable system.

A. Removal of the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) Filter
(1) Put a drain can 1 USgal (4 l) under the HCU filter.
(2) Remove and discard the lockwire.
(3) Remove the filter bowl: WARNING : YOU MUST REMOVE THE FILTER BOWL CAREFULLY BECAUSE IT IS
_______ FULL OF HYDRAULIC FLUID AND INJURY CAN OCCUR.
(a) Remove the filter bowl (5) from the HCU (15).
(4) Remove the filter cartridge (10) from the filter bowl (5). Discard the filter cartridge.

B. Installation of the Hydraulic Control Unit Filter R (1) Put a new filter cartridge (10) into the filter bowl (5).
(2) Fill the filter bowl (5) with thrust reverser hydraulic fluid.
(3) Install the filter bowl on the HCU. Tighten the filter bowl with your hand.
NOTE : Apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material
____ No. CP2245) after the filter bowl is tighten.
(4) Safety the filter bowl with lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. (Material No. CP8001) or lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. (Material No. CP8002).
