ELAC SYSTEM (ELEVATOR AILERON COMPUTER) - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General_______ The ELAC (Elevator and Aileron Computer) is in charge of the control of the elevators and ailerons and of the THS positioning. Each aircraft has two ELACs. Each computer has two units:
-
The COM unit which mainly calculates the deflection orders as a function of the received signals and slaves the control surfaces.
-
The MON unit which mainly checks that the orders are correctly executed.
