After adjusting trim tab travels, check cable wraps on trim drums at each end of travel. Minimum
allowableis 1 1/4 wraps. Install fairleads so they do not cause a change in direction of more than 3°
.
12. Installpulleys so they do not cause a change in cable direction of more than 1 laterally (primary controls)or 20 laterally (trimsystem).

Alltrimdrums,wrappedbasicallythesame,mustberemovedfromtheairplaneasfollows:

Forreference,markendof drum towardbaseof housing bracketwhenlaterinstallingand wrappingcableondrum.
2.
Withdrumhousingbracketheldfirmly,removeoneofthecableguardboltsfromhousingbracket.
3.
Removedrumscrewordrumshaftfromtrimscrewassembly.Removescrewbyremovingstoplocatedonendofscrewoppositebaseof housing bracket.Turnscrewfromdrum.Removeshaft bydrivingrollpinfromcenterofdrum.Pressshaftfromdrum.
4.
Removedrumfromhousing.
5.
Unwraptrimcableandremovecableandlockpinfromdrum.Ifoneendof cable is marked to facilitatehookupofcableends,note location in relation todrumwheninstallingnewcableon drum.
6.
Checkconditionof bushing in housing bracketforexcesswear.
7.
Toinstallandwraptrimcable,locatecenterofcable,measuringfromendto end.
8.
Insertcenterof cable intocableslotindrum;installlockpin.
9.
Holddrumwithpreviouslymarkedorbaseendof drum down.
10.Lookingdownon drum, wrapcableleadingfrombase end up inacounterclockwise
direction. Wrapcablefromupperenddownin aclockwisedirection.
11.Insertdruminhousingbracket,positiondrum,androutecablesfromassemblyasshowninFigure1.
12.
Installscrewandscrewstopor drum shaft. Securewithrollpin.
