5.
Rotate element (end-to-end) 180 in cleaning tank and operate unit for additional 10 minutes.

6.
Remove element from tank using clean, lint-free gloves; remove plugs.

7.
Place element in clean location and allow to dry.

8.
After element is cleaned, inspect with magnifying glass for clogged passages and broken wires. If morethan five percent of visible passages are clogged, return element to overhaul facility. If dents or broken wires are found, replaceelement.

9.
Installnew O-rings on filter element whether element is cleaned or new.

10.
Insertfilter element (perforated flange first) into filter housing in compressor inlet case.

X.  RecommendationsFor Changing Oil
NOTE: Referto Pratt & Whitney Service Bulletin No. 13001.
1.
Major factors concerning oil change frequency are engine mechanical condition, spectrometer analysis of used oil, climatic conditions, dust and sand ingestion during takeoff and landing roll, engine usage, and shelf life limitations of synthetic lubricants.

2.
Whenever oil is changed, remove and check oil filter element for metal particles. Clean, reinstall, or replace depending on time in service. (See Servicing Oil Filter Elements.)

3.
Only use oils listed in Pratt & Whitney Service Bulletin No. 13001.

Y.  OxygenSystem
Breathingsystem oxygen is furnished from a stationary cylinder in the aft section of the forward
compartment.Service and maintenance instructions for the oxygen system is found in 35-00-00.
1.  Oxygen System Safety Precautions
WARNING: FOREIGNMATTER IN HIGH PRESSURE LINES CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION. WHEN COMING IN CONTACT WITH OXYGEN EQUIPMENT,KEEPHANDS, TOOLS, AND CLOTHING CLEAN.
Use extreme caution when servicing, handling, and inspecting the oxygen system. Complywith
the following precautions:
(a)
Keep oxygen regulator, cylinder, gauge, valve, fittings, masks, and all other oxygen system components free of oil, grease, fuel, and other readily combustiblesubstances.

(b)
Do not allow foreign matter to enter oxygen lines.

(c)
Never attempt to repair or repaint oxygen equipment.

(d)
Keep fire and heat away from oxygen equipment. Do not smoke when working with or near oxygenequipment. Do not generate sparks when using tools.

(e)
Neverallow electrical equipment to contact oxygen cylinder.

(f)
Use only thread compound approved under MIL-T-5542on oxygen systems. Apply only to first thread of male fittings to prevent thread seizure.
