Theportablefire extinguisher unit General Fire Extinguisher Corporation(ModelNo.GH -2 -1/2), contains2 1/2 pounds of Halon 1211. It has a discharge rateof no less than 9.5 seconds. The originalweightof the extinguisher is 4 pounds 12 ounces

NOTE:Thereare no field recharge willrecharge
To operate theextinguisher, it from the quick-releasebracket,hold it upright in either
remove handby the handgrip,withthe spray nozzlepointingforward.Removethesafetypin,direct the
nozzletowardsthebase of the fire source, squeezethe lever with the palm of the hand.Maximum
extinguishingeffectis obtained if the fire -fighterusesside to side motion and keeps movingin
towardsthebaseof the fire sourceasit is extinguished. Releasingthe lever closesa secondary
sealinsidethe operating head. This interrupts the flow of extinguishant, thus retaining part of the
charge,for dealingwith a flash back orre-ignitionshouldthey occur, withoutwasteor leakage.
Ejectionof the indicatordiscprovidesa visual indicationof partialor total discharge. A partly or
totallydischargedextinguisherassemblyshouldbe replaced immediatelyafter use.
The extinguisher shall be inspected monthlyor unless otherwisespecified.The nozzleshall be
examinedto ascertain that they are unobstructed.Thetampertag or tamper indicatorshall be
intact. Theextinguishershall be pressurizedas indicatedand the weightshallbe withinthe
tolerance on the label
