The progressiveinspectionis recommendedby PiperAircraftCorporationand meetsthe
requirementsoutlinedin FederalAviationRegulationsPart43 and Part91 SubpartC, paragraph
91.169(d).
Thepurposeof the progressiveinspectionisto allowmaximumutilizationof the aircraft,reduce maintenanceinspectioncostand maintaina maximumstandardof continuousairworthiness.
Ownersandoperatorsof the PiperCheyenneIIIAareremindedthat certainrequirementsmustbe
met beforethe progressiveinspectionprocedurescan beutilized. These requirementsare
containedin the FederalAviationRegulationsPart43 -Maintenance,PreventiveInspection,
Rebuildingand Alterationand Part91 -GeneralOperatingand FlightRules.
Theinspectionfrequencyusedin the progressiveinspectionis basedon previousturbo propeller operatingexperience.However,adjustmentsto the inspectionintervalscanbe madeonlyby Piper AircraftCorporation.Any changesto this procedureby the owneror operatormustbe approved by the localFederalAviationAdministration.
The inspectionfrequencymayalsovaryfortrainingaircraftwhosesole purposeisflighttraining,
andwhereexperienceinformationhasbeensubmittedandevaluatedby Piperandthe applicable
aviationauthority(ex.FAA,JCAB,etc.).(SeeChart1,InspectionIntervalVariance,Section5-20-00.)
Discrepanciesfoundduringinspectionswill be enteredon the DiscrepancyRecord. The person conductingthe inspectionwill advisethe ownerand/oroperatorof the discrepanciesfoundduring the inspectionand enteredon the DiscrepancyRecord. Discrepancieswhichaffectthe airworthinessof the airplanewill requirethe necessarycorrectiveactionto be accomplishedbefore the airplaneis returnedto service.

Event Inspection Work Sheet -used in conjunction with the event inspectionto provide a list of discrepanciesandtheircorrectiveaction.
SpecialInspections-are inspections to be performed and recorded with the appropriate Event Inspection.
Specialor Unusual ConditionsInspections-these inspections shouldbe performed in conjunction with the normal and special event inspectionswhen operating in extreme conditions(i.e. sand, saltwater, etc.) or in the chance of some unforeseenincidentsuch as lightning strike,extreme turbulence, etc.
OperationalInspection-to be performed upon completion of each Event Inspection.
