(b) With torque tube positioned under panel, proceed as follows: (continued)
(5.) With bearing positioned in pillow block housing, place housing under tube and align aft tube with opening in pillow block. Slide forward tube right and into bearing support housing,ensuring the pillow block also slides into proper position on mounting bracket. To ensureproper alignment of pillow block housing, install cap bolts without block cap.
(6.) Install clevis pin, washer, and cotter pin through bearing support housing and torque tube.
(7.) Bolt on rudder pedals and brake cylinders whererequired.
(8.) Install and connect all hardware and assemblies.
(c) Slide removed assembliesto aft rudder torque tube in proper sequence.
(1.) Position tube in bearing support housing on left side of fuselage so it is properly placed in
left pillow block, aft opening. (2.) Connect aft tube support on pilot side to bracket on pressure bulkhead. (3.) With tube supported by support bracket and left pillow block, reinstall bearing in pillow
blockhousing.
(4.) Reinstall tube and reconnect all hardware.
(d) Checkrigging.

1. Removalof ForwardElevatorControlSector(Figure401)
(a)Removepilotseatandallcentralfloorpanelsat F.S. 270.0and322.5,andthosein front and behindthem.
(b)
Removesafetyclipfromproperelevatorcableturnbuckle(F.S.270.0or322.5)anddecrease cabletensionbypartiallyunscrewingoneofturnbuckleeyes.
(c)
Moveor removeappropriateseatson leftsideof cabin sofloorpanelbehindsparcarrythrough sectioncanberemoved.
(d)
Removesafetyclipononeofaileroncableturnbucklesat F.S.142.0anddecreasecable tensionon aileronsector.
(e)
Disconnectcontrolcolumnelevatorpushrodandcontrolcablesfromforwardelevatorsector.
(f)
Removetensionfromtwocablesystems,unscrewpivotbolt,and carefully slideoutboltuntil elevatorsectorcanbe removedfromunderaileronsector.If control columnpushrodof aileron controlsectorimpedesremoval,disconnectpushrodfromaileronsector.
2. Installationof ForwardElevatorControlSector(Figure401)
(a) Positionsector,underaileronsectorcontainingpushrodmountingflange,to rightand on
bottom.
(b)
Alignsectorto fit pivot boltand pushboltthroughsectors.
(c)
ScrewAN6-60Apivotboltintonutplateusingstandardtorquedesignatedin AC43-13.
NOTE: Tofacilitaterigging,ensuretorquetubedrivingforwardsectormeasures12.31inches betweendefinedcentersoftworodendbearings(Figure401).
(d)
Attachpushrodto mountingflangeextendingfrom bottomof sector.
(e)
Installrightelevatorcablein starboard grooveof sector, retainingplatewith retainingscrew, andsafetywire.
(f)
Installleft elevator cablein groove.
(g)
Tightenaileroncables(Figure401)and rig elevator cables(Figure501).
3. Removalof AftElevatorControlSector(Figure401)
(a) Removerearwardmostaccessplateson bothsideof fuselage tailandbulletassembly extendingfromtail.
NOTE:Whenremovingaftpush-pulltubefromsector,gainaccessto tube/sectorlinkagewith elevatorin up position.Maintainafirmgrip or clampsupportonelevatorto prevent release.
(b)
Rotateelevatorto pullupposition.
(c)
Withtwopeoplereachingthrougheachtail section accesshole,removelocknutandboltand carefullyreleasetube.
(d)
Removefirstthreeaccessplatesin centerof raisedfloor and disconnectelevatorcablesat F.S.
270.0and F.S.322.5to relieve tensionin system.
(e)
Withone personreachingthroughaccessand lighteningholesand holdingbolt,andanother holdingnut,unscrewandremovepivotbolt.
(f)
Pull sector forwardthroughslottedbulkheadanddisconnectcablesby removingsafetywire and retainingscrews.
(g)
Removesectorfromfuselage.
