TEST NO. 9 - PERFORMANCE TEST_____________________________
(h) Slowly move the thrust lever forward to the approach idle N2
value recorded earlier.
(i) Operate the engine at approach idle N2 speed for 15 minutes.
It is necessary to stabilize the engine at approach idle prior
to snap acceleration.
(j) With a stopwatch, prepare to measure the time of the engine
acceleration from the approach idle to 1.23 EPR.
(k) Quickly (1 second or less) move the forward thrust lever from
the approach idle position to the 1.25 EPR position recorded
earlier.
1) Measure the time of the acceleration from the approach idle
to 1.23 EPR.
2) Make sure the acceleration time is 5.7 seconds or less to
the 1.23 EPR target.
(l) Let the engine become stable for 30 - 35 seconds.
1) Make sure the engine speed does not go more than the 1.25
EPR target.
(m) Quickly (1 second or less) move the forward thrust lever
rearward to the idle position.
1) Measure the time of the deceleration from 1.25 EPR to 1.08
EPR.
2) Make sure the deceleration time is 6.0 seconds or less to
the 1.08 EPR target.
(n) Make sure the engine becomes stable at the minimum idle.
